Hyundai Ioniq & Kia Niro Hybrid Battery Replacement Buying Guide

, by Best Hybrid Batteries, 4 min reading time

Compare Hyundai Ioniq & Kia Niro replacement battery listings, base prices, fitment questions, DIY and shop installation, core returns and warranty options.

Hyundai Ioniq and Kia Niro owners should identify Hybrid or Plug-in Hybrid before comparing battery replacements. BHB lists separate high-voltage packs for both types. These listings should not be used to choose a battery for a fully electric version.

Use the linked products for current options, or request a quote with your VIN, diagnostic report, delivery ZIP code and preferred installation method.

Battery listings and base prices

BHB product listing — confirm exact fitment Listed base battery price
Kia Niro 2017-2022 Hybrid Battery $2,649
Hyundai Ioniq Hybrid Battery 2017-2022 Replacement $2,649
Kia Niro Plug In 2018-2022 Hybrid Battery $5,849
Hyundai Ioniq Plug In 2018-2022 Hybrid Battery $5,849

Prices checked October 19, 2026, in USD. These are base battery prices, not installed totals. Taxes, optional extended coverage, labor, setup and applicable delivery surcharges can add to the total. Confirm the current product price and selected options before ordering. Catalog listings are a starting point; have BHB verify fitment if the year, market or original battery information is uncertain.

Hybrid, plug-in and electric are separate applications

An Ioniq Hybrid is not selected from the Ioniq Plug-in listing; the same distinction applies to Niro. Confirm the full vehicle designation and VIN. Do not assume a pack is interchangeable because the year range or vehicle name looks similar.

Separate the traction battery from the 12-volt system

This guide covers high-voltage traction battery products. A quote for a low-voltage battery or related electrical work is a different scope of supply. Send the code report and symptoms if you are unsure which system requires attention.

Compare the complete pack and the installation plan

Ask what electronics and other parts are supplied, which components transfer and whether any setup is required for the exact application. The conventional-hybrid and plug-in listings have different base prices; compare the correct product instead of treating the higher-priced pack as a universal upgrade.

Plan the work around your exact vehicle

Review the supplied instructions and installation options before ordering. If a shop will do the work, confirm that it accepts customer-supplied packs and can service the particular Hybrid or Plug-in model. Have a confirmed diagnosis before buying solely because the car has a hybrid warning.

What should you compare between suppliers?

Ask whether the offer is a new OEM pack, a remanufactured assembly, a used battery or a limited repair. Compare the exact application, pack contents, test information, original shipping, installation and written warranty exclusions. A headline price or warranty length alone does not describe the complete purchase.

Choose an installation option

  • DIY — BHB’s most popular option: Installing your own battery is often more straightforward than people expect. Our packs arrive assembled, and our vehicle-specific instructions guide you through the process. Take your time, follow the shutdown steps, required waiting times and protective-equipment guidance, and complete the specified checks before handling electrical connections. We’re happy to help with questions. Confirm any programming or setup requirements for your application before you begin.
  • Your mechanic: We can ship to the shop you choose. Confirm it accepts customer-supplied batteries and obtain a quote for the complete installation.
  • Installer network: Explore our White Glove installation options and confirm local availability and labor charges.
  • Plainfield, Illinois: Schedule installation at our shop at 17320 S. Delia Ave., Plainfield, IL 60586.

Shipping, core return and warranty

Standard continental U.S. shipping is included; confirm any remote-area or residential freight surcharges and expedited service on your quote. Qualifying domestic DIY orders include prepaid core-return shipping with no upfront core deposit.

Keep the shipping materials and return your original core within 30 days to activate warranty coverage. Contact us before the deadline if you need help. A $500 charge applies if the required core is not returned.

The standard warranty is 3 years with unlimited mileage, with an optional 6-year term where offered. Your order shows the selected term. Replacement shipping, installation labor and towing are not covered. Commercial-use vehicles have separate terms. See our complete warranty policy for coverage, exclusions and claim requirements.

Hyundai Ioniq & Kia Niro buying questions

Will these packs fit an Ioniq Electric or Niro EV?

Do not use these hybrid and plug-in listings for a fully electric model. Contact BHB about your exact vehicle before ordering.

Can I upgrade my Hybrid using the Plug-in battery?

The separate listings are for replacement applications, not a universal conversion. Order the pack confirmed for your vehicle.

What details should I provide for a quote?

Send the VIN, full model designation, year, diagnostic report, delivery ZIP code and whether you prefer DIY or shop installation.
